Who Moved The Cheese?
Several years back I came across a book with the title “Who Moved the Cheese?”. I thought this was an odd title but it did catch my attention. The essence of the book, to me, came across as a time to examine the new ideas that have came across my path. Often when a new thought or revelation is brought to our attention we just ignore it, or deny it, or at the least deny its right to change our view and understanding.
Paradigms are very interesting to me because they make me have to deal with my belief system. The “whys” of what I believe. The “how comes” of my conclusions. The “I don't want to change” of what I believe and then the onslaught of the list of reasons why I believe what I believe. This can be, at times, very funny, then at other times very threatening.
When it comes to the belief systems, something about us just wants to hang on to what we have learned in the past. It’s like the ole fuddy dutty that we have all had a run in with. Its the “When I was a young man” or in the “Good ole days”.Then you would continue to hear a story of how things were done in the past. Some of the story can be a powerful truth that is non changing, an inspiration that is full of life. But some of it can evidently be related to the technology of the time or should I say lack of it.
You get the idea, or at least I hope you do.
It makes me think of the Scribes and Pharisees a little. For years they have studied. Day after day doing the same thing and faithfully so. They studied the prophets, they taught the prophecies, and they embraced them. However when those very same prophecy’s started to come to past they did not recognize them. They got angry at those “Upstarts” in the community that was “Moving their Cheese”. Now what? How do we believe? Who is God now? What do I believe? Things were changing and they did not like it one bit. It was very uncomfortable for them. They were loosing control, making their teaching lest predominant.
Of course it did not need to be that way at all.
It might have been a great time to listen to God.
It might have been the best of times for them, actually getting to be a part of seeing and experiencing the fulfilling of those prophecies that they were so faithfully teaching. But no, they did not want to see things differently. No paradigm shift for them; thank you very much.
They were stuck by a struggle on the inside of them
that did not want to change their view or opinion.
Of course hindsight is easier to spot isn't it?
However here we are kind of doing the same thing in a way.
Has God changed?
NO!
But we are seeing some changes. Not necessarily new things but more like timely things. Here we are in the “Last Days” and
God is busting a move all around the Globe.
However here, in USA, we are the Old Farts telling of the Glory Days, telling the old stories of the yester years.
Even though this is going on
God has hot spots across the USA
where Signs and wonders
are exploding on the
“Whosoever wills.”
We like those very scribes and Pharisees can choose
... in this day...
to have the view and opinion of God
as more important than our view and opinion
and actually get to be apart of what is happening
on the planet Earth in this important
season of
Biblical prophesies being fulfilled.
So the real question is
Who moved your cheese?
